Attorneys for ILLINOIS TOLL VIOLATIONS?

A friend of mine is in a bit of a situation. over the past year, while struggling paycheck to paycheck has had to skip quite a bit of tolls. He drives for a living (which means having to use the tollway quite often) and many times has had to choose paying the tolls for that day, or getting a few groceries for his 2 kids. Of course when you look at in one day his total charge in tolls while working is about 12 bucks, he obviously many times chose to skip them so they could eat. But that really isn't the question here.

I am wondering where he can find an attorney which helps in toll violation reduction. IL. is now trying to suspend his license which will cause him to lose his job because he drives for a living. any information on where to find an attorney which specializes in this area would be great!

Thanks! Serious answers only please. I am not interested in immature comments or lectures on obeying the law by paying the tolls in the first place. The toll system is a disgrace, and a smack in the face to every citizen every time we enter the tollway. just another clever way to take people's money.

Illinois Attorneys

The lawyer will cost more than the reduction

I don't have a lot of money, I have to pay tolls. Why should he get excused?
Tolls are used to improve highway systems. it isn't a disgrace. If he couldn't afford the tolls he should have found another job.

WEC 50 – Chad Mendes picks up one-sided decision win over Swanson

Undefeated WEC featherweight, Chad Mendes picked up the biggest win of his career to date tonight, defeating dangerous veteran, Cub Swanson at WEC 50 in a rather one-sided decision.

Slow start from both men before Mendes shoots in and takes Swanson down to the ground. Mendes moves to side control but can do very little as Swanson ties him up. After a prolonged spell of non-activity the referee stands the pair back up. Swanson throws a kick but it’s caught and Mendes takes him down once again. Mendes lets him back up and starts to get the better of the striking. Swanson attempts a flying knee but it’s caught and he’s dumped to the ground.

Swanson comes out swinging in the second, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Mendes but nothing lands significantly. After ducking numerous shots, Mendes shoot in and puts Swanson on his back. Swanson does a good job of tying Mendes up except for the odd elbow. Swanson attempts a guillotine and uses it to stand but the time runs out to do any damage once vertical.

Mendes with an early takedown this time but Swanson wall-walks his way back to his feet. Swanson lands a nice left hook but once again Mendes puts him on his back. Swanson looks for an omoplata before giving it up. Mendes secures the mount only for a second before Swanson quickly recovers guard. Swanson back to his feet with a minute left and looks immediately for a flying knee. Mendes catches him and dumps him to the ground. Mendes allows Swanson to stand before shooting in and riding out the rest of the round. the judges scored the bout in favour of Mendes, 30-27, 29-28, 29-28.

Flight school financial aid or loan repayment?

Does anyone know if any of the regional or major commercial airlines have loan repayment programs for pilots? I have a strong interest in flying and I'm looking for help in financing flight school, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to go to ATP's flight school. would FAFSA help with flight school? I'd love to hear from some pilots who have dealt with this before, however like I said ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Yes I am sure ATP Flight School offers financial aid (LOANS not GRANTS or SCHOLARSHIPS). my flight school, like many others, have an account with SallieMae and you must take out a career education loan. if you were to go to an accredited college for aviation that offered flight training for your ratings then you would not have to pay back your loans until you graduate and become an instructor. I am sure ATP, Delta Connection Academy, and PanAm Flight School offer the same things. Some people look at these as "fast track to the airlines" schemes and look down upon them but getting ratings is getting ratings. so yes, there are loans available to you for flight training and they can be paid back when you are done and have a job. www.jetuniversity.com is another training school which supposively guarantees you a job when you graduate. I don't know how true this is but if you pass their course and your job guarantee is in writing then you are in the clear. I heard if they don't hire you in 9 months then you don't have to pay them for your training. I am sure you could get a lawyer to review the terms and conditions but who knows…..if I were you I would get a college degree in something other than aviation and get your flight training done at an FBO flight school at your local airport for cheap. The FAA doesn't care where you get your ratings.

Renegotiate Home Loan How to Get the Best Result

There are several steps that you need to take to renegotiate your home loan. it is imperative that you get these steps right or you will be denied. there are many people every day that are denied a modification, don’t end up one of them.

The first thing you need to do is look at your financial situation. to get a loan modification, you need to have a job. Period. Your lender will not approve a loan mod if you are not going to be able to make the payments! now, if you do have an income, you must be able to show that you could make the payments if they were lowered. You have to get this just right. You have a small window of about 3%. This means that your debt to income ratio can not be too different. You cannot have too much debt or income, they must be pretty close to equal.

The second thing you need to do to renegotiate your home loan is contact your lender. You’ll need to speak with a case manager who will asses your situation to see if you qualify. They will ask you several questions over the phone and if you get them right, they will ask you to fax or mail in more information.

Most of the questions will be about your income and expenses. Just remember the information in the previous paragraphs about that. You can’t make too much or too little money each month once your expenses are paid!

If you do pass the test and get your information into your lender, you’ll then have to wait for a negotiator to get to your file. This is the tricky part. If you do not know what you are doing, this file could sit around for months with no one looking at it. even worse, they could look at it and deny you a loan modification.

Since the guidlines are so tricky, it might make sense to have a company process the modification for you. we are talking about your home here and you don’t wan’t to lose it. A licensed company with the DRE will know exactly what your specific lender is looking for and can even pre qualify you for a loan modification. They can also tell you what kind of outcome to expect before you retain their services, so you will be able to tell if it is the right move for you. also, they know how low lenders are willing to go on the interest rates and will be able to get you the best possible results. the difference in a couple percentage points makes a huge difference in your monthly payments and will definitely make up for the fees within a few months.

What do you think about Melissa Rycroft from the Bachelor is now on Dancing with the stars?

I just saw her perform and she is freaking awesome! she is so adorable….Jason's loss!

Yeah. she was amazing on the dance floor.
"she will end up dating somebody in Hollywood now."
I actually heard that she was dating her friend.

Jason dumping her changed Melissa's life.
Everyone loves her now, and that's Jason's loss.
What a world of opportunities Melissa has.

—–

Bravo for Melissa! she glided across that floor tonight and what a week she had! i thought ABC had done her an injustice having to broadcast what happened to her last week but i think that the injustice has been corrected. Jason's loss is our gain. to go from the lowest of lows to the highest high it could not have been more perfect for her! Congratulations Melissa!

yup, it''s true. Melissa is doing a great job at DWTS so far and it seems like she'll be doing a whole lot better than if she would have ended up with Jason. because "when one door closes another one opens." I loved how she stated, "Oh, please I'm doing fine." it came so naturally & I'm glad she does paying attention to that nonsense, people need to stop labeling her as the "dumpee or Jason Mesnick choice #1, or whatever else" .. Melissa should be referred to for who she is not what show she came from. But great choice for this season. She's got a long way to go !

I knew she'd do great! Ballet background – which of course helped her become a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader!

SHe's adorable – and very humble ("23 points better than I thought I'd get" Melissa said.)

Yep, eat your heart out Jason- He and Molly and Ty are watching her on the telly – and now he's thinking "what did I do??? " haha.

Go Melissa!

I think Melissa did incredibly well for only two days training and the kind of week she’s been having. I think America DOES feel sorry for her the way Jason treated her, but if she doesn't do well,. they wont continue to vote for her to the end.
I'm sure her Dallas Cowboy Cheer leading training helped her pick up routines quickly. they do have very high standards. she also had ballet training which always is a plus.

I am rooting for her. What a great "revenge" on how Jason treated her than to have americas sympthay and support.

Holly from "gossip Girls" the other last minute replacement, may be pretty, and maybe she didn't have a lot of practice time for the show, But, she was stiff and wooden. it seems often these really pretty girls,. (Like Kim Kardashian) have what it takes in the looks department but don't know how to use their bodies in a dancing routine. I look for her to be one of the first voted off the show.

I hate to say it but Holly seems like a typical "bimbo" to me as well.

Its early yet,. But I felt sorry a bit for Ty,. he was so stiff,. and awkward,,
Steve O did ok. but don't like his personality,.
Steve from Apple? well he knows he's not that great,. but he has a bizillion dollars so he’s just in it for fun.
Lil’ Kim.. maybe,. has potential.
Belinda Carlise? so-so, she doesn't have the energy you need to win,. and probably not the fan base.
Lawrence? athletes can go either way. sometimes though they start off badly and get better with time.
Gilles?.. we will see,. Cheryl is a good teacher. he might do ok.
David Grier? did alright.. not bad. could improve
I hated Denise Richards. that crying scene this early in the show, says she cant take the pressure. and I don’t think fans are that crazy about her either. her crybaby act turned me off right then and there. Maks is tough.. but he's good.
Shawn is also a cutie,. and I think her training as a gymnast will help her go far

Coming from a dancer of 12 years, she was WONDERFUL. not only is she a sweet person, but she's elegant, graceful, her extensions were there, and she learned it all in just two days!
I'm so glad she got on the show; I'd give anything to see Jason's face. especially when the audience boo-ed him. :D
I think Bruno said it best. He's a complete loser. Haha.

I love her! she is America's Sweetheart and she was fantastic! I am so happy for her. she deserves so much better than that loser bachelor, and she's going places! she did a fabulous job tonight.

i love her! and i loved her dance!
she does have a boyfriend currently though.
ever so convienantly his name is ty haha.
but i think she's going to go far in the competition for sure! :D

She is so awesome! Im glad Jason left her…..see how many doors opened for her? Melissa is probably the most loved person in America right now…haha

I'm soo happy for her! Jason dumping her DEFINATELY opened a lot of doors for her! I hope she wins!

— Jason has to be crying again!.. lol

yay…so glad she is on the show. I hope she wins and does start dating someone in Hollywood. Eat your heart out Jason.

How did "Clark Rockefeller" get away with so much stuff for so long?

did he even have a job? how was he able to support himself?

People are stupid.as a Cat I am sure of it.

How did "Clark Rockefeller" get away with so much stuff for so long?

How long does it take to complete a flight attendant program to the start of a job?

I just read on this flight attendant site that they offer a 6 month flight attendant program…that is a long time! 2nd question: What do you think of the flight attendant sites that charge money for you to get more info regarding flight attendant jobs and industry? Thank you

flight attendant, bah! Terrorists, lagg, annoying people, screaming children, you basically a waiter for a flying cafe and you dont get tips and have a chance of being blown from the sky.

hi, being a flight attendant is not easy but it's not hard neither. it is not a job – it's a career – that not suitable for any one. it a life style change completely. The flight attendant program is usually 4 weeks training – and then you will have 6 months probation to be official hired.

Do not pay for a flight attendant training program – they are a waste of money and time. if you get hired by an airline, they provide their own training.
Most of the airline training programs are 5 – 7 weeks.
Go directly to the airline and apply online. if you register and have your resume and profile on the site, you can ask to be alerted when there are openings and apply at that time.
You will have to be on site at the training base for the entire time and will probably will have to relocate to whichever base you are assigned to.
Apply at every airline you can and one will be hiring at some point.
As for requirements: should be at least 18 or 21 years old (no maximum age) with at least 2 years of customer service experience. A college degree or at least some college is a plus. you should present a poised, outgoing customer focused personality. Airlines look for a well groomed professional appearance and proportionate height and weight.
Good luck – it is a fun job with lots of benefits.
I beg to differ about risking your life – you are more at risk commuting to work on the freeway.

Audrina Patridge: Hard at Work on “Honey 2″

Trying to find her way in the movie industry as “the Hills” nears its end, Audrina Patridge has been hard at work on the set of “Honey 2″ as of late.

In the film, the MTV reality star plays a dance competition judge – which is a role that follows the film’s first installment led by Jessica Alba.

Talking to ET about the new job, Audrina dished, “I love dance movies and I was a huge fan of ‘Step Up’ — it makes you want to get out there and dance with them. if [the filmmakers] asked me if I wanted to dance, I would have said yes, because I love dancing. but I’m not as good as these guys; it takes a lot of hard work and practice to get up there.”

As for moving on from life on “the Hills,” Miss Patridge tells, “It’s almost like I’ve kind of grown up on TV; I’m 25 and now that I’m not doing ‘the Hills’ anymore, it’s over, it’s kind of like graduating and now I can actually start doing different things. … I’m focusing more on movies and scripted shows, so this is a great opportunity.”

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing “Honey 2″ on DVD in the Fall of 2011.

Off-duty: Our Great Mid-America Redneck Tour

2:11 pm June 28, 2010, by Steve Rose

Greetings from metro Waynesville, Missouri!

We were officially here to visit my son Patrick, who was graduating from his chemical school training at Ft. Leonard Wood. after 10 weeks of working around various nerve agents, he’s fully prepared to handle whatever the Army throws at him. Fortunately, he now has a third hand protruding from his head to handle things. the Army said it will go away in a few weeks. until then, he’s learning to juggle.

We took this trip by car to see a bit of America — and America we have seen! Detective Sandy and I always give our trips a name to remember them by. For example:

  • Losing two Grand in Vegas ‘07.
  • Losing two Grand in Vegas ‘08.
  • Winning a Lousy two Hundred While Losing Four Grand in Vegas ‘09.
  • Too Poor for Vegas ’10.

We left metropolitan Ball Ground in the late morning hours, intending to drive just past Memphis or whenever the little energy drink wore off. My job is to drive. Sandy’s job is to remain sharp by sleeping as much as possible until we find something interesting enough to wake her up — like thrift shops or Jimmy Buffett.

This trip became the Great Mid-America Redneck Tour ‘10. it was named early, just about 20 miles east of Tupelo, Mississippi. it is there you will find a Wal-Mart. Without telling you why, when passing through and you have an hour to spare, try this great bit of people watching:

Stop in the Wal-Mart and walk the aisles. Count the time it takes to spot the first Elvis impersonator. it won’t take long. For us, it was less than five minutes. although I’m quite sure he wasn’t an official impersonator, he was right on with the jet black pompadour, Elvis, circa 1971. later, Late ’70s Elvis was spotted walking in and, later still, a mid-’60s Elvis browsed the women’s intimate section.

Leaving Tupelo takes about 25 seconds, more if you stop at the home in which Elvis was born. We moved toward Memphis, but kept driving because of the abundance of crack houses on U.S. Highway 78. For sport, we counted them but lost track at the red lights while counting gun shots instead.

Cue finger-wave: ‘I did not have sex with that woman … ‘

Little Rock was the stopover spot for the night. It’s true, everyone talks like Bill Clinton! We were up and going early the next morning because I couldn’t think of any Bill Clinton jokes that haven’t already been worn thin.

We moved northwest through Tulsa and landed in the northeast Oklahoma town of Bartlesville, where I revisited where I lived as a kid. the house was smaller than I remember. and the yard was too small for the football games I remember playing with the neighbors. I called my parents to make sure this was the house we lived in. They laughed at me and pointed out the restraining order was still in effect.

Driving back east, we spent the night in Joplin, Missouri, where nothing in particular happened. We drove to Springfield and toured Missouri State University, where — again — nothing in particular happened. We had a nice lunch at a street-side café where we noticed that everyone but us was heavily tattooed. that — having no particular meaning, and it being very hot outside — convinced us to drive on to St. Joseph, home of Ft. Leonard Wood, which is where we were for the weekend.

Since our son could not see us that evening, we found a cinema and took in a movie, which took a second seat to the surrounding scenery. If you like people watching, then this was jackpot night.

I guess we’re so used to suburban movie mega-complexes that we assume they’re all alike. They’re not. This one was small, and everyone in St. Joseph and Waynesville flocks to the movies on Friday nights. everyone was heavily tattooed here, too, and the mullet percentage was about 45 percent.

It’s about the same for the men, too.

Today we continue the Great Mid-America Redneck Tour ‘10, passing through St. Louis and Nashville on the way back to Ball Ground. Among the highlights we’re looking forward to include the world’s largest rocking chair, several thrift stores, hours of Radio Margaritaville to help Detective Sandy sleep, and comparing the pompadours of Nashville to those of Tupelo.

Tour de France 2010, stage four: Mark Cavendish out of fizz as Petacchi wins

The Cavendish of old would have contested the sprint to the bitter end, even if only to assuage his growing anger and frustration. he went very quietly, which suggests the problem might be as much in the mind as the body. With two more sprinting days scheduled for Thursday and Friday we will know soon enough.

All thoughts of the leading points scorer’s green jersey, which he so narrowly missed out on last year, are now gone, replaced by silent prayers that he can get into the mix at some point on this Tour and nick a stage.

Eric Zabel, a friend, mentor and indeed hero of Cavendish’s, summed it up when he insisted the HTC-Columbia team “did a perfect job. the only thing we missed today was Cav’s sprint legs from last year”, he said.

There are a couple of mitigating circumstances for Cavendish that should be mentioned in deference to a great sprinter clearly going through a very rough patch. although the stage profile looked pancake flat the last kilometre or so was in fact a long steady incline, not ideal for Cavendish although he has won on such terrain before.

Secondly the kindly Zabel is being too generous in describing HTC-Columbia as doing the “perfect job”. Mark Renshaw, for one, admitted afterwards that he did not get Cavendish as far up the road as he wanted and that he failed to react quickly enough to Petacchi’s winning move down the left.

HTC-Columbia are also clearly missing the massive horsepower of Adam Hansen, who pulled out on Monday, and are keeping Michael Rogers out of the fray altogether as they preserve him for the general classification contest.

But that is where the excuses must end. This has been an ill-starred season for Cavendish from the moment he picked up a tooth infection in January, and since then he has been talking a much better game than he has delivered. he is crashing when he did not before, he is looking around as though for instruction when he used to dive into gaps instinctively, and he is losing races to riders he used to dismiss with something akin to contempt.

The spring in the legs has gone, along with that fabled extra gear that nobody else had, and as Cavendish stayed in his team bus and refused to talk to the world’s media we can, for the time being, only make informed guesses as to why.

There have also been instances of muddled thinking generally from him and his team. having punctured before the first pavé section on Tuesday’s cobbled stage he raced hell for leather in the last hour through most of the peloton to finish alongside Lance Armstrong just two minutes behind the winner.

It was a fine effort but Cavendish does not normally expend an ounce of energy in vain and that massive effort was probably indicative of his policy of now trying to pick up points in non-sprint stages. that is new and confusing territory for him.

Away from the sprinters it was the most soporific of days as the general classification riders licked their wounds as they made their gentle way south from Cambrai through the battlefields and graveyards of the First World War, an experience which did rather put their bumps and bruises and whinges from their crashes on Monday and Tuesday in perspective.

With two more pure sprint days in prospect one rider who will appreciate a quiet time in the bunch more than most is Team Sky’s Simon Gerrans, who is earmarked to lead Bradley Wiggins through the high mountains.

Gerrans was struck a nasty blow in the cheek by a flying pedal in a pile-up on the cobblestones on Tuesday and took it very gingerly at the start. he improved noticeably during the day and is hopeful of taking station by Wiggins when the Alps come into view on Sunday.
